I Have Forgotten the Answer to My Security Question

If you have forgotten the answer to the security question you were asked, click on I have forgotten the answer to my security question. You will be asked another security question.

If you do not know the answer to the second question either, follow these steps:

  • Click again on I have forgotten the answer to my security question.
  • If necessary, click on the Unlock button.
  • Check your user code and click on Continue if it is correct or on Back if it is wrong and you have to correct it.
  • Provide the personal information requested* and click on I agree.
  • Confirm that the information shown is correct, and click on Continue.
  • Choose a few security questions, enter the answers and click on Continue.

* The information requested will vary depending on how your identity was verified when your account was created.

Identity Verified with Health Insurance Number

If you are asked to provide your medical insurance number when resetting your security questions, you must first contact the Régie de l’assurance maladie du Québec to get a new activation key. This activation key is required to continue resetting your security questions. For security and confidentiality purposes, your activation key will be sent by mail, just as it was when you first created your account.

Once you receive your activation key, you may restart the process to access the service you would like to use. You will have to provide information about your health insurance card (including your health insurance number) and the activation key you received from the Régie. You will then be guided through the instructions for choosing your security questions.

Identity Verified with Social Insurance Number 

If you are asked to provide your social insurance number when resetting your security questions, simply provide the required personal information (including your notice of assessment number). You will then be guided through the instructions for choosing your security questions.

Identity not verified 

You cannot reset your security questions for an account if your identity has never been verified.

You can still try to answer the question that was previously asked. To see it again, click on the Back button.

If you are unable to answer one of your security questions, we suggest that you create a new account. Your identity will then be verified.
