I Have Forgotten my Password

The procedure for resetting your password varies, depending on the type of clicSÉQUR account.

To reset your password, start by:

  • Accessing the desired online service from the website of the participating government department or agency;
  • Entering your user code and answering the security question, if require;
  • Clicking on I have forgotten my password.

Account for which identity has not been verified

If you have an account for which identity has not been verified, the next steps are to:

  • Enter the email address linked to your clicSÉQUR account;
  • Click on Continue.

An email containing a temporary password will be sent to the email address you entered. You will have to enter the temporary password and then enter a new password and confirm it.

Account for which identity has been verified

If you have an account for which identity has been verified, the next step is to choose between two reinitialization options.

Option 1: By receiving a temporary password

If you choose this option, you will have to:

  • Enter the email address linked to your clicSÉQUR account;
  • Click on Continue.

An email containing a temporary password will be sent to the email address you entered. You will have to enter the temporary password and then enter a new password and confirm it.

Option 2: By having your identity checked

The way to reset your password will depend on how your identity was verified when your account was created.

Identity Verified with Health Insurance Number

If you are asked to provide your medical insurance number when resetting your password, you must first contact the Régie de l’assurance maladie du Québec to get a new activation key. This activation key is required to continue the process for resetting your password. For security and confidentiality purposes, your activation key will be sent by mail, just as it was when you first created your account.

Once you receive your activation key, you may restart the process to access the service you would like to use. You will have to provide information about your health insurance card (including your health insurance number) and the activation key you received from the Régie. You will then be guided through the instructions for setting your new password.

Identity Verified with Social Insurance Number 

If you are asked to provide your social insurance number when resetting your password, simply provide the required personal information (including your notice of assessment number). You will then be guided through the instructions for setting your new password.
