Security

The clicSÉQUR service’s security measures are designed to protect your personal information and allow you to use the online services of participating government departments and agencies with complete confidence.

Security Questions

You will be asked to choose security questions. A security questions will be randomly displayed every time you use clicSÉQUR unless you check the Don’t ask me any more questions box.  During authentication, on the verification code page, you can check the Don't ask for a verification code again for the next eight (8) hours box.

Your clicSÉQUR Account Is Yours and Yours Alone!

You must keep your identifier and security options confidential. Memorize your user code and password instead of writing them down. If you do choose to write them down, be sure to store your records in a safe place.

There are several ways to detect fraudulent use of your clicSÉQUR account:

  • On the Management of Account and Access to Services page, you can see the date and time you last used clicSÉQUR and check whether they are correct;
  • If you have a clicSÉQUR account for which identity has been verified, you can see the list of your clicSÉQUR accounts on the Management of Account and Access to Services page and check that all the accounts shown are yours.

If you detect any fraudulent use of your clicSÉQUR account, contact the Centre de relations avec la clientèle de Services Québec immediately.

To make your clicSÉQUR account even more secure, we recommend that you:

  • Use the most recent version of your Web browser;
  • Change your password regularly;
  • Do not use personal information (such as your first or last names) as part of your user code, password or personal sentence;
  • Check your password’s security level using the tool provided;
  • Choose a meaningful personal sentence that you can easily recognize;
  • Choose security questions that are easy for you to answer but hard for others to guess.

Navigating Securely and Closing Your Session

As a security precaution, you should always:

  • Use the sign-out or disconnection option provided by the online service as soon as you have finished using it;
  • Delete your browser history using your Web browser’s Options or Preferences menu;
  • Close all your Web browser windows.

Using a Public Computer

To protect your personal information, the single sign-on option is deactivated once you check the I am using a public computer box. If you have checked this box, you will not be able to navigate from one online service to another without re-entering the answer to your security question as well as your user password each time. You will have to complete the normal authentication process for each participating department or agency whose services you want to use.
